WOODEN FLOORING & DECKING MANUFACTURING

Flooring and Decking Manufactured to Customer Specification

Wooden flooring and decking require more than attractive timber. Species selection, moisture condition, dimensional stability, machining profile, surface preparation and final installation environment all influence the performance of the finished product.

PT TATA SUMBER INTI works on a customer-order basis. Product dimensions, timber species, construction type, surface profile, grading requirements and finishing specifications can therefore be discussed according to the intended application and destination market.

Our portfolio includes Merbau, Meranti, Teak, Pine, Yellow Balau, Kumea, Mahogany and Jack Fruit Wood. If you require another wood species that is not listed on this page, please do not hesitate to contact us. We can review your requested species and production requirements.

Flooring & Decking Wood Species Portfolio

The technical values below are reference properties of the wood species. Actual finished-product performance depends on timber origin, grade, moisture content, machining, construction method, installation conditions and finishing system.

01. Pine

Pinus merkusii • Softwood

Sumatran Pine is a relatively lightweight softwood with straight grain, medium and even texture, and a light reddish-brown heartwood with pale sapwood. Its lower hardness compared with the heavy tropical hardwoods in this portfolio makes it more suitable for applications where a lighter timber and easier machining are required.

Flooring Application: Interior flooring, wall and ceiling timber applications, furniture-related flooring projects and other protected architectural uses. Outdoor decking should only be specified where the design, treatment and exposure conditions are appropriate.

Shorea spp. • Tropical Hardwood

Meranti is a commercial group of Shorea species with properties that vary according to the individual species and group. Dark Red Meranti, for example, has an average dried density around 675 kg/m³, while Light Red Meranti is substantially lighter. This variation is important when specifying flooring because hardness, density and dimensional behaviour are not identical across all Meranti timber.

Flooring Application: Interior flooring, engineered flooring components, architectural joinery and protected interior applications. Species and grade should be confirmed before production.
